Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of www.todkc.com and the services of Trades on Demand, a Trademark Walls company, Kansas City ("Trades on Demand," "TOD," "we," "us"). By booking a service, creating an account, applying or working as a contractor, or opting in to text messages, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Trades on Demand is a dispatch service and marketplace that connects customers in the Kansas City metro with independent, licensed trade contractors (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, handyman, and other trades). Work is performed by the contractor who accepts your job. Contractors are independent businesses, not employees or agents of Trades on Demand, and they are responsible for the quality, safety, permitting, and warranty of their work.

We book jobs only inside the Kansas City metro on the Missouri and Kansas sides. We may decline or cancel any booking outside the service area or that we cannot staff. If a situation is life-threatening, call 911 first.

• Estimates shown online or by dispatch are good-faith ranges, not binding quotes. The final price is based on the work actually performed and is shown on your invoice.
• Trades on Demand is the merchant of record. You pay Trades on Demand, not the contractor, through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices include a Trades on Demand platform fee on top of the contractor's price.
• Where a deposit or card on file is required, we will tell you before you book. By saving a card you authorize us to charge the approved invoice amount for the job.
• Tell us as early as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. A trip or diagnostic charge may apply if a contractor has already been dispatched or arrives and cannot access the job.
• Questions or disputes about an invoice should be raised with us within 30 days so we can work with you and the contractor to resolve them.

You agree to provide accurate contact and job information, to be authorized to request work at the service address (for example, landlord approval if you rent), to provide safe access to the work area, and to treat contractors with respect.

• Contractors must hold and maintain all licenses, registrations, and insurance required for their trades and service areas, and must keep the documents on file with us current.
• Contractors are independent businesses. They decide whether to accept each dispatch offer and control how they perform the work, and they are responsible for their own taxes, tools, employees, and compliance with law.
• Contractor payouts are made through Stripe Connect after the customer's payment, less the Trades on Demand platform fee, as described during onboarding.
• We may pause or remove contractors for expired credentials, safety or quality issues, or violations of these Terms.

• Program name: Trades on Demand notifications.
• Program description: Transactional text messages about service jobs. Contractors receive job dispatch offers and job updates. Customers receive booking confirmations, job status and arrival updates, and invoice and payment updates. We do not send marketing messages.
• How you opt in: You opt in by entering your mobile phone number and agreeing to the text message disclosure shown next to the phone field when you book a service at www.todkc.com/book or sign up as a contractor at www.todkc.com/contractors/signup. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase.
• Message frequency varies based on your jobs — typically up to about 10 messages per job.
• Message and data rates may apply.
• To cancel: Reply STOP to any message to cancel. You will receive one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed. To resume, reply START.
• For help: Reply HELP for help, or call (816) 516-0735.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• Your mobile information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Keep your sign-in links and account access private. You may not misuse the service, submit false bookings or credentials, interfere with the website, scrape data, or attempt to bypass Trades on Demand to pay a contractor directly for a job booked through us.

The website and dispatch service are provided "as is" and "as available." Arrival windows and estimates are not guarantees. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trades on Demand disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Any warranty on the work itself is provided by the contractor.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trades on Demand and Trademark Walls will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for the acts or omissions of independent contractors. Our total liability for any claim relating to a job or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid Trades on Demand for that job. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Trades on Demand and Trademark Walls from claims arising from your misuse of the service or violation of these Terms. Contractors additionally agree to indemnify us for claims arising from their work.

We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept them. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. These Terms are governed by applicable U.S. federal law and the law of the state where the services are performed.
